This Is Your Summer Paradise!
What do you dream of for a summer vacation? I just got back from Montana, and if you haven't been there, you have to go!
First of all, this is "Yellowstone Country", yes like the TV show, and also the home of the very first national park in our country; Yellowstone National Park. The beauty is spectacular! Whether it's "Old Faithful"...
Or the "Paint pots"...
Yellowstone is a "bucket list" destination.
In nearby Big Sky, Montana, (a great place to "home base") Lone Peak shimmers against the wide open blue skies of "Big Sky Country" and usually has a cap of snow even in summer!
Wildlife is everywhere you drive or walk, both inside and outside the park. These big horn sheep were just saying "hello" as we drove up the mountain to ski.
In winter there is some of the country's best skiing, and in summer the possibilities are endless! There is mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, white-water rafting and fly fishing in crystal clear blue ribbon trout streams.
And there's the "old west hospitality". You and your family can sit around a campfire under a starry night sky or enjoy dinner at a real working ranch, and don't forget to try a buffalo burger at the legendary "Corral".
I fell in love with Montana more than 20 years ago and built a quaint cabin on the banks of the Gallatin River, where "A River Runs Through It" was filmed. There are direct flights into Bozeman daily from most major cities and my "Yellowstone Cabin" is just a short drive from the airport.
